Celebratory certificate presentation highlights fantastic work of local young people

Healthy Champions have been meeting every Thursday at the Project John Hub in Cavendish Street, Barrow.

The twelve week course is a partnership project headed by Brathay Trust and supported by Drop Zone and Moorfield Learning Centre.

Barrow Mayor, Bill McEwan, presented certificates before joining the youngsters and staff for a delicious buffet lunch.
The project has supported young people to create a health message and included a visit from Leslie Graham, Public Health Manager at Cumbria County Council, to help them develop this.

The young people have completed a Level 2 Award for Young Health Champions, which has been funded by Cumbria Alcohol Partnership. They are the first in Cumbria to achieve this.
