Fire crews attend blaze at Lake District Hotel

In this early hours of this morning crews were called to a report of a fire at a hotel on Newby Bridge Road, Windermere.

The fire was in the laundry room of the Beech Hill Hotel

The call came in at 02:50 and the hotel had been evacuated when crews arrived.

Firefighters, two in breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to bring the fire under control.

A thermal imaging camera was then used to make sure there were no further hotspots.

Police attended as it is believed the fire had been started deliberately.
