Crowds will flock to celebrate 160 years of the Lowick Show this weekend

The annual show of animals, produce and other traditional Cumbrian pursuits sees crowds flock not just for the refined talents, but also for the downright dirty.

Showgoers can watch or participate in Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling, Hill and Track Races as well as all manner of Hound and Sheep Dog Competitions.

There is a selection of children’s entertainment and a craft marquee to ensure everyone has the best time possible.

HuddleHub asked Claire Storey, the show secretary, how she feels about the achievement of the show. She said: "I'm really looking forward to the 160th show and it's my first show as secretary. I've seen how hard the committee works to pull it all together and this week we'll be busy setting up. I'm really looking forward to see it all on the day and I hope that the sun will shine for us."

I have no doubts Lowick Show will continue to achieve greatness throughout the years to come and I don’t know about you, but I will be pencilling the show into my calendar.

I’ll see you all there on September 2nd 2017 - maybe we can wrestle.
