MAN STABBED: Police cordon off Greengate Street in Barrow

Police officers are currently in attendance in Greengate Street after a man in his 30s attended hospital with stab wounds to his upper legs.

The man attended Furness General Hospital’s A&E shortly before 6.30pm and police were alerted.

The man is receiving treatment but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening at this time.

Greengate Street – believed to be where the man suffered the injuries - is currently cordoned off whilst officers investigate the incident.

Police ask that people avoid this area to minimise disruption on their travel.

Anyone who witnessed this incident and is yet to come forward or anyone who has information which may assist is urged to contact police referencing incident 192 of 11 March 2019.
