Air ambulance landed in Barrow to take a male to hospital

A MAN was airlifted to hospital for an injury that occurred at home.

The casualty was taken by ambulance slowly through the town with a police escort.

He was transferred to an air ambulance by police, paramedics and air ambulance staff and flown to hospital.

Police held back people in Barrow Park for their own safety near the leisure centre as the helicopter took off about 1.30pm.
