Fire crews called to building fire in Barrow

Walney and Barrow fire crews were both mobilised to a building fire on Lesh Lane in Barrow today at 2.32pm. 

The Barrow crew used an Aerial Ladder Platform to tackle the fire from the roof via the flue and the Walney crew extiguised the fire from the hearth. 

The Barrow and Wlaney crews were also mobiliesed ealier today at 12.20pm to Rawlinson Street in Barrow, to assist with a Road Traffic Collision where persons were trapped in a vehicle. Luckily there were no reported injuries. 

Both crews were also mobilised to reports of a Building Fire at a School on Greengate Street in Barrow. Both Primary Schools thoroughly checked out, luckily it was a false alarm. "Good intent put down to smoke from a boiler chimney. It's better to be safe than sorry!"
