Ulverston Tots Delighted: Wardgroup staff kindly revamp nursery greenhouse

Wardgroup staff have put their skills to good use giving a helping hand at a nursery in Ulverston.

Church Walk Preschool Nursery were given a greenhouse over a year ago, but the perspex sheets and the shelf for the planting trays had definitely seen better days, so Megan Eccles, Manager of Church Walk Preschool Nursery in Ulverston, wrote to Wardgroup in Barrow asking for a little help.

Some of the perspex sheets for the sides of the greenhouse needed replacing to make it more usable and effective for when the children begin growing their seeds in the spring time.

Mark Morsby, Manager at Wards in Barrow, was only too happy to help, not only did he arrange to have new perspex sheeting fitted for the full greenhouse but he also arranged for the base of the greenhouse to be rebuilt and fitted to ensure that there was a sturdy frame on which to rest the children’s seedling trays.

Megan said: “It all began with a letter, asking for a little help to revamp the greenhouse.

"We have ended up with a fantastic safe place for our preschool children to plant their little seedlings.

"The children love it, they are so excited and  can’t wait to make a start growing their flowers and plants in the spring.

"We cannot thank Mark enough, and huge thanks also goes to Wards staff.

"Kyle Morsby and James Higham came out to our preschool on a number of occasions to ensure the greenhouse was completed to an incredibly high standard. They have all shown huge kindness and it has warmed the hearts of all the children and staff here at Church Walk Preschool Nursery.

"Thank you to Mark and the team at Wards in Barrow."
